    The City of Campbell River acknowledges that we are on the territory of the Laich-Kwil-Tach people of the Wei Wai Kum and We Wai Kai First Nations.

    FINANCIAL UPDATES
    2023 Permissive Tax Exemptions
    Council adopted Permissive Exemption from Taxation Amendment Bylaw No. 3873, 2022. This bylaw approves grants to two new not-for-profit organizations and increases the PTE for one existing organization, as recommended in the Community Partnership Committee's August 4, 2022 report.

    ECONOMIC UPDATES
    Destination Campbell River 2023 Annual Tactical Plan
    Council approved the Destination Campbell River - 2023 Tactical Plan, as recommended by the Tourism Advisory Committee, which details the marketing initiatives that will be undertaken based upon the Five-Year Strategic Business Plan that was prepared in 2021.

    CORRESPONDENCE
    Discovery Passage Aquarium Society’s facility update
    Correspondence was received from Naomi Tabata, President of the Discovery Passage Aquarium Society on a potential new facility site.

    Departing words from outgoing Mayor and Council
    Members of the outgoing Council acknowledged and thanked Mayor Adams, fellow Councillors and staff for their work and collaboration during their time on Council. Mayor-elect Dahl and the incumbent Council were congratulated and best wishes were shared for the next term.

    Ambassador Award recipients announced
    Council received the Campbell River Mirror article regarding Andy Adams and Layne Marshal, the Immigrant Welcome Centre's Ambassador Award winners.

    Community ReGreening Program update
    Council received an email from Ted Olynyk, Community Relations Manager, Vancouver Island - Sunshine Coast, BC Hydro regarding their Community ReGreening Program and administration confirmed that the City would be applying in 2023.
