    Results now official - City confirms by-election results

    By-election results have now been confirmed by the City’s chief election officer. A final review has confirmed all ballot numbers correct as outlined in a March 1 news release sharing preliminary results.

    Sean Smyth won the most votes to fill the vacant seat on Campbell River city council.

    Due to the ongoing pandemic, COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed when Smyth is sworn in as a new councillor in Council Chambers at City Hall prior to the March 8 Council meeting.

    A total of 2,439 ballots were cast, with 303 people voting by mail and 1,075 during advance polls.  Read more...
