There are many incentives available for new buildings that are built beyond the BC Building Code.

BC Energy Step Code

The City of Campbell River offers financial incentives for new energy efficient residential buildings that are constructed to meet the BC Energy Step Code.

The BC Energy Step Code is a Provincial initiative introduced in April 2017 to increase energy-efficiency requirements for new buildings, through an amendment to the BC Building Code. The Energy Step Code is a series of progressive performance targets (steps) that supports market transformation of new construction to meet a standard above the current base BC Building Code.

Step Code Steps
The City provides incentives for the different steps for new Part 9 residential buildings.
