National Child Day brings star musicians and FREE family fun to the Community Centre Nov. 21

National Child Day celebrations in Campbell River will offer a wide range of free family fun, including award-winning musicians on Friday, Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Community Centre.

“We have completely re-vamped this year’s National Child Day event, and families will be able to enjoy the musical talents of Juno Award winner Helen Austin and award-winning singer/songwriter Sue Pyper,” says recreation programmer Margaret Lukban. “There will also be storybook readings, arts and crafts and other live demonstrations from local organizations such as the CR Gymnastics team!”

National Child Day is celebrated each year in November to mark Canada’s adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child to grow up in a healthy environment.
