About the Nunns Creek & Frank James Parks Masterplans

Improving the quality of open space in Campbell River is a long-term objective for the City. Nunns Creek Park and Frank James Park are two important parks for the community, both needing forward-looking planning to consider how they will evolve. Through this process, a masterplan will be created for each park that considers the issues and opportunities of today, listens to ideas for the future, and creates a strategic, phased plan for achieving change over time. Public input is welcomed at workshops and through the survey link below.

In June, we held the first public event and questionnaire for Nunns Creek and Frank James Parks Masterplans. Over 50 participants joined us at the Workshop and over 150 people completed a questionnaire. Thank you to everyone who provided input! We are now using this valuable information as we consider draft directions for the two parks. Click here to read a summary of the information received.

Did you have an idea for Nunns Creek Park or Frank James Park that you didn't get to share? It's not too late! Please submit your idea in the comment box below. We'll add this information to the comments and information we received during the Public Ideas Workshop & Questionnaire #1.

Based on the input from Public Event #1 for the Nunns Creek and Frank James Park Masterplans, we recognize that subsurface conditions at Nunns Creek park present challenges for park development. To better understand these challenges, the City is Proceeding with a geotechnical investigation of subsurface conditions. In order to allow the time needed to complete this investigation, public consultation for the masterplans will be rescheduled. We anticipate that public consultation for the masterplanning process will resume in late 2016 and at that time we will invite participants to a public event to share new information and preliminary concepts for both Nunns Creek and Frank James Parks. If you you have any questions or input, please do not hesitate to contact us at the information below Thank you for your continued interest in the Nunns Creek and Frank James Park Masterplans.
