Legacy Bench at Dick Murphy Park 2

A new park furniture donation program

Due to the popularity of the former Legacy Landmark program, Campbell River was short on space to place new benches and tables, with a long list of people hoping to donate an item.

Now, with the development of more parks, the park furniture donation program has more sites available, including the Discovery Pier and Baikie Island.

The new policy offers individuals, group or organizations an opportunity to lease a memorial park bench or table site for 15 years, with the City maintaining the landmark during that time. At the end of the 15-year term (or 25 years, if renewed), the bench/table space will be made available for renewal for a new donation with the first right of refusal given to the original donor.

Campbell River is located in one of the most scenic areas of Canada. We are surrounded with beaches, mountains and natural beauty. Help us continue to make our parks and community facilities more relaxing, versatile places by contributing funds for park furnishings and improvements.
