The waterfront sewer forcemain carries sewage and is a critical piece of infrastructure that was built inSewer 1972 and is in need of replacement due to its condition and to accommodate growth in the southern portion of the community. Since this time, a new understanding of the impacts of sea level rise has put that alignment in question and triggered the need for a re-assessment of the alignment options. The outcome of this assessment concluded the highway route is preferred. This option is recommended as it has the lowest cost, best addresses the effects of sea level rise, and introduces the lowest risk.
