On a warm, August evening in 2017, we launched the Modern Entrepreneur series with a workshop at the Campbell River Museum. Our guest speaker Jill Earthy, Chief Growth Officer for FrontFundr, visited our beautiful, seaside city to chat with us about ways entrepreneurs can fund their business start ups.

If you attended, you were in for a treat - beyond imparting her knowledge of business and raising funds, Jill shared her own inspiring story about her career and how she got where she is today. The evening was capped off with fun, food and adventure. Yes, we did say adventure! We were pleased to have Campbell River’s Andy Cowan, from North Island Battlefield Outdoor Laser tag, on hand to engage everyone in some unconventional networking. That’s right, the evening ended with a game of laser tag.

Since launching, we have held several workshops and events. This fall, the Modern Entrepreneur series continues with two fantastic workshops in September addressing the needs of every modern entrepreneur: revenue generation. Selling your product or service is what makes your business go, but being a salesperson doesn’t come naturally to everyone. To help with this, we’ve invited Shannon Ward from OnTrack Media to facilitate two workshops: “Sales Fundamentals for Non-Sales People” and “Sales Strategy Workshop.” Because, as Shannon says, “Struggle, pain and sacrifice is not necessary for business success.” Intrigued?
